Competition (Amendment) Act, 2007
An Act to amend the Competition Act, 2002. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Amendment Act, 2007.
An Act to amend the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Warehousing (Development and Regulation) Act, 2007
An Act to make provisions for the development and regulation of warehouses, negotiability of warehouse receipts, establishment of a Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006
An Act to consolidate the laws relating to food and to establish the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India for laying down science based standards for articles of food and to regulate their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import, to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Karnataka Food Security Ordinance, 2005
An ordinance to provide for Food Security to the people, as an extension of the Human Rights in the State of matters connected therewith and incidental thereto. Whereas, both Houses of the State Legislature are not in session and the Governor of Karnataka is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary for him to take immediate action. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 213 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Karnataka is pleased to promulgate the following ordinance, namely.-

Prohibition of Smoking in Public Places Rules, 2008
In exercise of the power conferred by Section 31 of the Cigarettes and other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003 (34 of 2003), the Central Government hereby makes the following Rules, in supersession to Rule 3 of the Cigarettes and other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Rules, 2004, namely:-
Competition Appellate Tribunal (Term of the Selection Committee and the manner of selection of panel of names) Rules, 2008
In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (mb) of sub-section (2) of Section 63 read with sub-section (2) of Section 53E, of the Competition Act, 2002 (12 of 2003) the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely:-
Prevention of Food Adulteration (Second Amendment) Rules, 2008
Whereas a draft of certain rules further to amend the Prevention of Food Adulteration Rules, 1955, was published, as required by sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954 (37 of 1954), at pages 1 to 20 in the notification of Government of India in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (Department of Health), number G.S.R. 299(E), dated the 20th May, 2006, inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby till the expiry of sixty days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette containing the said notification, were made available to the public; And whereas, the copies of the said Gazette were made available to the public on 24th May, 2006; And whereas, objections and suggestions received from the public within the specified period on the said draft rules have been considered by the Central Government; Now, therefore, in exercise of powers conferred by Section 23 of the said Act, the Central Govern
Karnataka Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2008
Whereas, the draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (Recruitment) Rules, 2002 was published as required by sub-section (2) of Section 3 read with Section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990), in Notification No. FCS 102 EFT 2007, dated 29-1-2008, in Part 1V-A of the Karnataka Gazette, Extraordinary, dated 6-2-2008, inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby within fifteen days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. And whereas, the said Gazette was made available to the public on 6th February, 2008. And whereas, no objections and suggestions in respect of the said draft have been received by the State Government. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 3 read with Section 8 of the Karnataka State Civil Services Act, 1978 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1990), the Government of Karnataka hereby makes
Cigarettes and other Tobacco Products (Packaging and Labelling) Rules, 2008
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 7, sub-section (2) of Section 8, Section 10 and Section 31 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003 (34 of 2003), and in supersession of the Cigarettes and other Tobacco Products (Packaging and Labelling) Rules, 2006, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely:-
Sugar Development Fund (Amendment) Rules, 2008
In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 9 of the Sugar Development Fund Act, 1982 (4 of 1982), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Sugar Development Fund Rules, 1983, namely:-

Whereas, a draft of certain rules further to amend the Prevention of Food Adulteration Rules 1955, were published as required by sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954 (37 of 1954), in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Department of Health), number G.S.R. 752(E), dated the 5th December, 2007 inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby till the expiry of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette containing the said notification, were made available to the public; And, whereas, the copies of the said notification were made available to the public on 11th December, 2007; And, whereas, objections or suggestions received from the public on the said draft rules have been considered by the Central Government; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 23 of
Competition Commission of India (Term of the Selection Committee and the manner of selection of panel of names) Rules, 2008
In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 63 read with sub-section (2) of section 9, of the Competition Act, 2002 (12 of 2003) and in supersession of the Competition Commission of India (Selection of Chairperson and other Members of the Commission) Rules, 2003 the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely: -
Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Rules, 2007
In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 76 read with Sections 8 and 9 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (61 of 1985), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, namely :-
Karnataka Standards of Weights and Measures (Enforcement) (Amendment) Rules, 2006
Whereas, the draft of the following rules further to amend the Karnataka Standards of Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Rules, 1988, was published as required by sub-section (4) of Section 72 of the Standards of Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Act, 1985 (Central Act 54 of 1985), in Notification No. FCS 199/EBT/2004, dated 29-9-2006, in Part IV-A of the Karnataka Gazette, Extraordinary No. 1509, dated 16-11-2006, inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby within 30 days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. And whereas, the said Gazette was made available to the public on 16-11-2006. And whereas, no objections/suggestions have been received by the State Government. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 72 of the Standards of Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Art, 1985 (Central Act 54 of 1985), after consultation with the Central Government, the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rul
